A CAR was stolen from a Poole home, filled with petrol which wasn't paid for and then used by shoplifters at Asda, police say.

The black Ford Galaxy was taken from a property in Ashley Road, Poole at around 5.45am on Sunday, January 5.

Days later, the vehicle was filled with petrol at the Esso Highland Service Station in Ashley Road. The driver made off without paying for fuel worth £30 at around 4.30am on January 9.

On the same day, the car was used by shoplifters who stole items from Asda at Canford Heath at 9.15am.

The Galaxy was finally found in Grove Road, Bournemouth shortly before 11am that day.

Sergeant Chris Biggs, of Dorset Police, has now released CCTV photos of two men he wants to speak to in connection with the spree.

“We believe that the vehicle was used in several offences between Sunday, January 5 and Thursday, January 9," he said.

"I would urge anyone who recognises these people, or who has any information that may assist our investigation, to please contact us.”
