A CHARITY football match at Prestatyn Town raised £1500 for Alzheimer's Research.
The game, held in memory of former player Gareth Savage, saw Prestatyn Legends take on Wrexham Legends.
Mr Savage's son Dave said: "We as a family would like to express our sincere thanks to Prestatyn Town and Wrexham Legends teams, as well as everyone who attended the game, donated raffle prizes and contributed in different ways.
"We're absolutely overwhelmed by the response and can't thank everyone enough. Dad suffered with Alzheimer’s disease for eight years, and there is no doubt that it’s a cruel condition which affects many families. That’s why the total raised will be important in supporting research into hopefully one day finding a cure."
The club hopes to make the game an annual event.
