An Audi driver pulled alongside a pedestrian and offered a drink of alcohol early on Christmas Day.
Andrzej Sztajnert, aged 35, a security guard at Kinmel Hall, St George, Abergele, was more than twice the alcohol limit.
“He really can’t explain why he was in the car offering people drinks,” defence solicitor Nia Dawson told magistrates at Llandudno.
The defendant was apologetic, she added.
He admitted drink-driving at Old Colwyn and was fined £120, banned for 20 months, and ordered to pay £117 costs.
Prosecutor James Neary said he was first seen at 3am by a member of the public on Llandudno promenade and police had been alerted.
