I WELCOME this opportunity to wish, on behalf of all the members of Abergele Town Council, a very Happy Christmas to all our residents.

The last few weeks have seen Abergele and district come alive with Christmas trees and displays of lights our Town Council proudly provide every year. This year we have also hosted a ‘St. Kentigern’s Tree of Light’ at the Town Hall and it’s hoped this will continue every year.

It has been a pleasure visiting all our Residential and Nursing Homes with cards and gifts and making new friends.

The many Christmas Concerts, parties, church services, events I have attended as mayor are testament to the wonderful community spirit we have in Abergele.

I would like to reflect on the successes many individuals and organisations in our town have achieved during the year, welcome new residents and remember those we have lost.

Mayor of Abergele, Cllr Shirley Jones-Roberts

A NEW year is fast approaching and we all face challenging and turbulent times with many changes ahead.

As we celebrate with family and friends and give thanks for what we have, our thoughts often turn to the less fortunate amongst us who face their own challenges every day, whether it be through hardship, social stigma, heath or mental issues.

My Christmas message would be to those of us who are able to look at our community and offer friendship and help to those who need it. This is no necessarily just financially, but by giving time with a listening ear and a helping hand, not just because it’s Christmas but throughout the year.

I would like to say a special thank you to all the businesses a residents who gave contributions toward Christmas hampers for some families in our area

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and all the best for the new year.

Mayor of Towyn and Kinmel Bay, Cllr Morris Jones

I’d like to wish all the resident of Rhuddlan and beyond a very merry Christmas.

This is a special time of year. A time when we spend precious time with family and friends, and take stock of the year that’s passed.

Christmas is also a time to be thankful for everything we have. I must pay tribute to the community and the volunteers who are always working hard to make Rhuddlan a special place to live and work.

As the season is well upon us, I would hope that we can all take to time to think about those who face a lonely Christmas. We should give some thought to this and remember what basic Christianity is about, that we should take care of our fellow man.

Rhuddlan has so many things going on in the community for all ages and ability and its important that people take advantage of these. Please don’t stay home and be lonely, come and join us and have fun!

I hope you, your family and your friends have a Merry Christmas.

Mayor of Rhuddlan, Cllr Arwel Roberts

THE festive period is such a happy time of year but, for many, it can be a lonely and challenging occasion for lots of different reasons. It is crucial to remember an act of kindness, a good deed, saying hello to friends or checking up on our neighbours can make all the difference to people who are struggling.

I have seen for myself the work many different organisations do to help those in times of need and met many people who come to our rescue in our hour of need. To our emergency services, health and service personnel, I say a heartfelt thank you.

The resilience and kindness of the people of Rhyl binds us. We have many volunteers who give up their time to support our town, and I thank every one of them for their work.

As the year draws to a close and another appears on the horizon, I hope that 2020 is a positive year, one of kindness and unity. I would like to wish you a happy and healthy Christmas and all the very best for the year ahead.

Mayor of Rhyl, Cllr Ellie Chard

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year in the Flynn house. It is a time to thank God for his blessing of his son Jesus.

The bible tells us we will have tough times in life but be of good cheer. This is a difficult message when its you going through those tough times and I know everyone of us has either been through those times or we are currently in them and there seems no light at the end of the tunnel.

As I get older I believe there are only three things that truly matter in my life. Hope, which everyone of us needs. We must always have hope for our families, our communities, our emergency services, our schools and our world.

Faith, which for people who have it value it above everything and I know Yvonne and I value Faith in our lives and in the last couple of years have needed it like never before.

Love, which the bible tells us is the greatest of all is it so precious that we love one another and allow them to love us.

Everyone on the planet wants to be loved and they want to love others.

Mayor of Prestatyn, Cllr Tony Flynn
