Part of the M53 has reopened after a lorry overturned, spilling soya across the carriageway.
An accident involving the HGV and a van took place on the southbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 5 on Friday afternoon.
North West Motorway Police tweeted at 2pm that the lorry's cargo of soya had spilled over the road prompting a full closure of the carriageway.
As well as recovery, road sweepers were called to the scene before checks were carried out on the road surface.
Just before 9.20pm, police confirmed the carriageway had been fully reopened.
A spokesman said: "Many thanks for your support and Patience today."
