A THUG from Mold who was said to have bit a pregnant teenager in the face has been jailed for 26 weeks.

Ryan Seaman flew into a rage when the 17-year-old refused to let him accompany her to her grandmother’s house.

Prosecutor Rhian Jackson told North East Wales Magistrates’ Court that Seaman’s victim tried to leave, but was grabbed by the arms before the defendant bit her forehead and nose.

He then grabbed a mirror and threw it at the girl’s back.

“She was screaming and crying and that she couldn’t do any more and needed to leave,” said the prosecutor.

Seaman’s father heard the commotion at the family home, but Ms Jackson said the defendant tried to bite the teenager, who is ten weeks pregnant, again in the face before she managed to flee to her relative’s.

Seaman, 22, of Maes Y Dre, Mold, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm last Sundayand failing to comply with post-custodial supervision on November 11 this year.

Seaman denied biting the teenager when questioned by police and claimed blood on her forehead was from a scab caused by a previous accident with a straightener.

His solicitor, Victoria Evans, said the guilty plea was on the basis the defendant had not bitten his victim.Ms Evans, defending, said Seaman suffered from mental health issues and had attempted self-harm.

When he is released he will have to pay a £122 victim surcharge.
