A SITE in Holywell could be turned into a traveller site.

Plans submitted to Flintshire Council request permission to change the use of a piece of previously developed land adjacent to Nationwide Caravan Rental Services in Coast Road, Tanlan, to provide family traveller site accommodation comprising two static homes, two trailer caravans and a day room.

The scheme also proposes to create new access from the site onto Coast Road.

The planning statement explains: “The proposed development would not be harmful to the street scene, given the sites position within the locality and the commercial activities that take place on the adjacent site and surrounding area.

“Overall, the site can be described as being located in a sustainable location given its proximity to local services, the highway network and to public transportation routes.”

“The proposed use of the site is for use as a family traveller site, which in effect is a residential development. No commercial uses of the site are proposed though this planning application.

“Each pitch would consist of one static home, one trailer caravan and two car parking spaces.”

Regarding its former use, the application explains the site is previously developed land which formed part of the nationwide caravan rental services site.
