A FLOCK of Father Christmases rushed around Llandudno to collect money for St David’s Hospice.

In total there were 47 running for the hospice, although they were among a much larger throng taking part in the annual Santa Dash, five kilometres run, and raised almost £1,200.

James Wilde, St David’s Hospice Conwy Area fundraiser said: “A huge well done to the runners for their fundraising efforts. They came in with a sackful of money for the charity, a real Christmas present. and we look forward to having them back next year.”

The idea for the Santa dash came from Team Bespoke Fitness and Events company. They took on organising the fun run to raise funds for St Davids Hospice.

A spokesman for Team Bespoke Fitness and Events said: “The run was very successful with more than 380 runners, including families and even dog walkers, at the start eager to get going.

“They walked, jogged and ran the five kilometre route.

“This was the fourth year we’ve organised the Santa Dash and have seen it go from strength to strength, and look forward to it getting bigger and better in the future.

One participant commented: “The perfect way to get yourself in the Christmas spirit. Llandudno was full of red suits, so much fun, the whole event was amazing.”

Another said: “Great family event. Completed the course with my two sisters. Had a great laugh.”
