THE Tory parliamentary candidate for Warrington North has slammed the person responsible for removing her campaign posters.

Wendy Maisey took to Twitter to vent her frustration last Wednesday after they disappeared – just two days after being put into place.

The politician confirmed she had permission to put them up on the private farm land on the outskirts of Croft, on Southworth Lane.

She said: “We live in a democracy, shame on whoever is responsible.”

Warrington Conservatives later tweeted: “Given we’re in a GE and placards are popping up everywhere, it’s highly unlikely to be the Labour council… oh wait!”

The council has confirmed it did not remove the signs.

Labour is defending a majority of 9,582 in Warrington North in Thursday’s general election.
