WITH the general looming, here is your guide to the candidates standing in Aberconwy.

North Wales Pioneer:

Welsh Labour candidate Emily Owen

Emily Owen is parliamentary candidate for Welsh Labour.

Miss Owen,25, is standing for the party in her second General Election campaign. In 2017, she lost by 635 votes to the Welsh Conservative incumbent Guto Bebb.

She lives in Llandudno with her partner and two dogs, and currently works with two neurological charities and is also a school governor.

Miss Owen stands of a platform "creating a more tolerant, equal society" with focus on supporting the homeless, refugees, food bank users and young people. She aims to work with legislators to ensure everyone's views are heard

North Wales Pioneer:

Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate Jason Edwards

Jason Edwards is the parliamentary candidate for the Welsh Liberal Democrats.

Mr Edwards is a town councillor within his community of Penmaenmawr. Before entering politics he worked as a social enterprise development officer and worked within the community transport sector across North Wales.

He was born and raised on Anglesey and is a first language Welsh speaker.

Mr Edwards views Brexit as the single biggest issue of the election. He has been heavily involved in campaigning for the People’s Vote and seeks to tackle the climate crisis by investing in renewable energies to create more green jobs.

Plaid Cymru candidate Lisa Goodier

Lisa Goodier is the parliamentary candidate for Plaid Cymru.

Mrs Goodier,47, lives in with her husband Allan and her two children. Born and raised outside of Wales, Mrs Goodier has lived in the area for 12 years, is a town councillor for the Capelulo ward and is currently learning Welsh. She is also a governor at the Welsh-medium school, Ysgol Pencae.

She standing at the election because she wants to offer people in Aberconwy a credible alternative to the larger parties.

She backs a second referendum on Brexit and the party's Green New Deal as well as more funding for the NHS in Wales.

Welsh Conservative candidate Robin Millar

Robin Millar is the parliamentary candidate for the Welsh Conservatives.

Originally from Bangor, Mr Millar and his wife Bonny have homes in both Newmarket and near Bethesda.

Mr Millar, who replaces former MP Guto Bebb in standing for the party, has also represented the Welsh Conservatives in the Arfon constituency at 2010 General Election.

A civil engineer by profession, Mr Millar has also worked as a manager. He is a councillor for both Suffolk county council and West Suffolk council.

Mr Millar follows the party line to 'get Brexit done' with the aim of moving beyond the issue.
