IT'S been starting to feel a lot like Christmas for the Denbigh Harriers.

There were two Santa-themed races over the weekend for club members.

John Llewelyn Thomas took on the Bespoke Clwydian Santa Dash, supported by Roger Snaith and with David Spencer marshalling.

Also in Santa attire was Peter Lester Owen, who was running the Llandudno 5k Santa Dash.

Meanwhile, it was somewhat cold and miserable for the five Denbigh Harriers who turned out to run the undulating Vale of Clwyd Half Marathon on Sunday.

New member Catherine Tudor Jones ran a storming race to come 11th overall and she was the first woman home.

This was a tremendous performance considering she has just completed the Florence Marathon in an amazing time of 3-10.27.

The first Denbigh Harrier man home was Mat Jones, running a solid race and he was followed just over a minute later by Mel Morris as the first F40.

Carys Jones continued her great running form to finish just in front of the evergreen Bob Neale.

Harriers' results: 11, Catherine Tudor Jones (1st woman) 1-35.03; 19, Mat Jones 1-40.21; 23, Melina Morris (1st F40) 1-41.43; 55, Carys Davies 1-52.56; 56, Bob Neale 1-53.14.

There was a good turnout of Denbigh Harriers at the inaugural Prestatyn Nova parkrun on Saturday.

This new event replaces the Bodelwyddan parkrun.

It follows the prom westwards, before heading onto a grassy tuned area and turning around to return to the starting point.

Harriers' results: 25, Victoria Whitehead (3rd woman) 23.54; 33, Joseph Welch 24.33; 39, Chris Baldwin 25.10; 54, Jon Whitehead 26.31; 78, Julie Roberts 28.55.

Woodhouse Moor parkrun: 89, Katy Baugh 22.52; 112, Elen Baugh 23.46 (personal best).

Conwy parkrun: 30, Philip Hayes 22.38.

Wepre parkrun: 72, Sian Pritchard 30.00.
