WHILE the emergency services often make a deafening sound on their way to an incident, officers are set to sing joyous tunes at a Christmas concert.
North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Welsh Ambulance Service will perform their annual carol service at St Asaph Cathedral this month. It is seen as a chance for officers, their families and the public to celebrate their work.
Chief constable Carl Foulkes said: “The annual event has become quite a feature in the emergency services’ calendar and is enjoyed by many staff members, volunteers, their families and members of the public who wish to show their support. It is free and a warm welcome is extended to all to attend, what will be, a wonderful evening.”
The emergency service carol singers will perform alongside the Royal Buckley Town Band, choir Côr Alaw and soloist Tomos Bohana.
There will also be a mix of readings by uniformed representatives of the services.
Proceeds collected during the service will be donated to Hafal, the leading charity for people with serious mental illness and their carers in Wales.
Gerald Williams, chaplain to North Wales Police, said: “I attend this service every year and I look forward to extending a very warm welcome to all service members, staff, family, friends and the community that we serve throughout the year.”
The service takes place from 7.30pm on Monday, December 9. Admission is free.
