A FORMER Coronation Street star joined thousands in Rhyl to light up the town with festive spirit.
Catherine Tyldesley, who earlier this year could be seen tripping the light fantastic on BBC One hit Strictly Come Dancing, joined the town’s mayor cllr Ellie Chard on the High Street this afternoon for the annual Christmas Lights Switch on.
A number of performers also took part in the festive event - which is organised by Denbighshire County Council with financial support from Rhyl Town Council - including pop duo MavMac and The Cavernites with a Tribute to the Beatles – touring years.
The cast of this year’s Rhyl pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were also on hand to share in the goodwill, as well as keeping the crowds entertained alongside costumed street performers, stilt walkers and the wheelie play bus.
