GOLDEN buzzer-worthy talent in Towyn will be on hand to provide plenty of entertainment to anyone who's had their fill of the General Election.

In a coup for the town, The Morton Arms - alongside the Kinmel Bay based event organisers NWE Entertainments - will play host to auditions for the next series of Britain's Got Talent on Thursday, December 12.

Ahead of the popular ITV show's return next April - and on the same day as the General Election - producers are hitting the road to find North Wales' most talented performers. Across its 13 year history, BGT has jump started the careers of winners such as Collabro and Diversity, as well as launching contestant Susan Boyle into the stratosphere in 2009.

NWE Entertainments company director Darren Howells said: "Myself and sister and business partner Joanne Howells have both been brought up in Towyn. we both think it's a amazing place to live as well as holiday, so we try a bring all the top artists and people to the area, so we are very proud to be leading this Britain Got Talent event in Towyn.

"With the success Rhyl has had over the last couple of years, with events K-Fest and all kinds of acts like Madness, we understand the importance of what good family entertainment can bring to an area and hope this event will be supported.

"I'm certainly excited to see some of the talent that will taking part. It's chance to see more people from the area who might have been flying under the radar and maybe, who knows, Britain's next big star."

Deadlines for applications for the auditions are Tuesday, December 10, and can be submitted by calling NEW Entertainments on 01244 566250.

The auditions will run from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday 12. Applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
