CINEWORLD and The Botanist will both be opening in Warrington in early December – signalling the launch of the Time Square development.

But the £142.5million scheme has nine more restaurants, bars or leisure outlets still to announce.

So that has got the Warrington Guardian team thinking about the big names they would like to see coming to the town. The following is our ‘wish list’.

RUDY’S PIZZA

Chosen by: Hannah Bargery, head of digital content

Warrington Guardian:

It’s already opened in Manchester and Liverpool and it would be nice to see the same queues out the door in Warrington for a taste of Naples. The light and floppy Neapolitan bases served here means it takes a degree of skill to avoid all your toppings sliding off each slice but I’m quite happy to have an excuse for extra practice.

JUNKYARD GOLD CLUB

Chosen by: Reporter Isobel Cotogni

Warrington Guardian:

For those wanting an alternative to a sit-down meal or a night of bar hopping, Junk Yard golf would be an obvious choice.

With outlets in Liverpool and Manchester, it is time the people of Warrington didn’t have to drive down the M62 for a night of unique crazy golf.

The weird wonderland of neon lights, pick and mix cocktails, delicious junk food and Instagrammable opportunities every way you turn, would be an ideal addition for Time Square.

Each course has a different theme with slides, roundabouts and Ferris wheels and the music plays all night long.

COAST TO COAST

Chosen by: Aran Dhillon, local democracy reporter

Warrington Guardian:

American-themed restaurant Coast to Coast would be a wonderful addition to Time Square.

With the chain boasting a selection of tasty dishes, such as burgers, steaks and ribs, inspired by hearty comfort food in the United States, residents would be in for a range of tantalising treats to get the taste buds tingling.

PIZZA HUT

Chosen by: Deputy editor Gareth Dunning

Warrington Guardian:

It may not be the most trendy choice but who doesn’t love to hit the hut?

And with the legendary buffet now available at weekends too it is the perfect family combination – cheap eat followed by a film. A smashing Saturday day out.

WAGAMAMA

Chosen by: Chief reporter Adam Everett

Warrington Guardian:

For too long, the good people of Warrington have had to take a trip to the Trafford Centre in order to get their Wagamama fix.

Sure, we have a plethora of Chinese takeaways across town who can offer a decent imitation.

But there’s nothing quite like real thing, and I for one would welcome our new noodle overlords.

PRET A MANGER

Chosen by: Reporter Jessica Farrington

Warrington Guardian:

Not only does Pret do great hot drinks but it also serves a wide range of lunch options, from sandwiches and salads, to soups and hot food for on the go. Plus, the cookies are a great sweet treat!

BREWDOG

Chosen by: Weekend editor David Morgan

Warrington Guardian:

BrewDog played a huge part in the UK’s craft beer revolution and their signature industrial-style bars are still a favourite among discerning ‘hop heads’ due to the wealth of guest beer you can get there.

So alongside the likes of Punk IPA and Hazy Jane could be a sought after American ale you cannot get anywhere else or UK craft favourites like Cloudwater, Verdant or North.

We already have a great dedicated craft beer bar in Warrington – Hop Co in Bold Street – but a bit more choice for a big town like Warrington would go down a treat.
