SHOPPERS in Rhyl helped to boost this year’s Guide Dogs Appeal by donating more than £230.
This was done through a street collection.
Volunteers and dogs planted themselves in the White Rose Shopping Centre, where the charity had a stall selling cards and canine-themed Christmas gifts.
The event was supported by the local Specsavers branch, with a member of staff dressing up as giant guide dog Hero.
Eileen Williams, organiser, said: "Lots of children were keen to have a picture taken with Hero and meet our real-life local guide dogs, including Alfie, Coffee and Sidney. It was a really fun day.”
The Guide Dogs Appeal 2019, Pups to Partnerships, ran until the end of October.
It had aims to raise £420,000 to help fund seven lifetime guide dog partnerships.
