TRIBUTES have been paid to the owner of a Prestatyn cafe who died this week following a long battle with cancer.

Kim Graham, 51, had ran Kim's Kitchen, a dog friendly traditional cafe located on the Town's High Street, since 2012. She was diagnosed with Breast cancer in the same year.

On Thursday afternoon, the cafe's Facebook page took released a statement confirming her death, saying: "With much sadness and tears we have to tell all our customers that Kim lost her battle to Cancer and passed away this morning peacefully with her son by her side. We will be closed for the next few days to allow our staff and customers time to grieve and come to terms with the loss of our Kim."

Hundreds of messages of condolence were posted in response to the post.

One user wrote: "So sorry to hear the devastating news such a lovely lady me and my partner always looked forward to coming in for our breakfasts every week."

Another added: "The whole town has lost one of its best people. Such a kind, humorous, most excellent woman." Many others added that they were "devastated" and "heartbroken" to have heard about Ms Graham's death and passed their condolences on to her 28-year-old son Nathan.

Fellow Prestatyn High Street business The Hideaway, which is a cocktail bar, also paid tribute saying: "A beautiful lady who always helped us along our journey and sent us flowers on our opening day with the most lovely heart. Kim may you now be in peace and free from the battle of cancer. We will be a heartbroken Town and our thoughts are with your son and all your family and friends. Until we meet again."

A fundraiser has been set up by Kim's Kitchen staff in order to cover the costs of Ms Graham's funeral.
