HEAVY rain could cause some flooding in parts of North Wales, weather experts have warned.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain in areas including Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham for most of Friday (October 11).

It came into force at midnight and will end at 6pm.

According to the Met Office, flooding of some homes and businesses is likely, bus and train times may be affected with journey times taking longer and spray and flooding on roads may also affect motorists.

A spokesman said: "A band of rain will arrive across parts of Wales, central and northern England during the early hours of Friday and then remain slow moving through much of the day.

"Within this area 15-30mm of rainfall is expected widely. 50-70mm may occur across high ground of western Wales and potentially the Pennines. The band of rain will clear to the southeast by Friday evening."
