TWO sisters were surprised to find themselves at the centre of attention during a surprise anniversary celebration.
Michelle Cotton, manager of Dolanog Residential Care Home in Rhyl, and deputy, Lorraine Hughes, marked 40 years of combined service.
A spokesperson for the care home said: "After weeks of secret planning, the unsuspecting pair were called from their office to receive a round of applause from a packed decorated dining room, festooned with balloons, decorations and flowers.
"All available staff and residents turned out in force, supported by the trustees, and enjoyed cake and a bucks fizz toast".
Michael McEvoy, chairman of the volunteer trustees, presented gifts, bouquets and congratulatory cards.
The spokesperson added: "He paid glowing tribute to the dedication and outstanding caring qualities the sisters had brought to their roles throughout their 20 years.
"It was due in no small part, he said, to their unfailing commitment that an inspector had described Dolanog in a glowing report as a wonderful place to live."
