AN INFORMATION event in Flintshire for families and carers of people living with autism was hailed a great success.

The event took place on September 13 at Theatr Clwyd and saw 30 information stands set up, ranging from specialist colleges, employment, volunteering, housing and carers services.

The event was organised by Flintshire Council's Integrated Autism Service (IAS) and was an opportunity for carers and parents of people with autism to seek employment, education and voluntary opportunities.

It was attended by the likes of MIND, Keyring, Team around the family, Cyfle Cymru and Derwen College.

The event was aimed at inviting members of the public from the three counties, Flintshire, Wrexham and Denbighshire.

Over 100 tickets were purchased prior to the event and many others attended on the day.

Raffle prizes were given out to those who requested tickets and two of the IAS Psychologists Simon Moseley and Freya Spencer White held a question and answer session.
