A ST ASAPH man who approached two females in a riverside park and commented “nice bum” to both has been ordered to register as a sex offender.

Magistrates in Llandudno heard that on March 1, a woman was walking alongside the River Elwy in the city when a man walked past her.

He then ran back, touched her bottom, made the comment and then ran off.

On April 16, a 12-year-old girl was walking in the same area when the same man approached. When he reached towards her bottom she screamed.

The following day John Harris Wood, 31, was identified from a police e-fit. He denied any offence but later admitted what he had done.

Wood, of Ffordd Brenig, St Asaph, pleaded guilty to one offences of sexual touching and one of attempted sexual assault.

His solicitor Andrew Hutchinson told the court that a full pre-sentence report would be needed from the probation service as Wood suffered from Aspergers Syndrome.

He was bailed to appear for sentencing on October 11 and in the meantime must register as a sex offender
