A FORMER eyesore property has been refurbished and is now available for rent.
The property on Brighton Road, Rhyl, was purchased by Denbighshire Housing and has been converted into three energy efficient apartments.
As part Denbighshire County Council’s work on ensuring there is sufficient housing for residents, the one-bedroom apartments are now available to rent.
Cllr Tony Thomas, Council cabinet member for Housing and Communities, said: “I’m pleased the Council has been able to bring a derelict property back into use, providing three affordable homes and contributing towards the Council’s corporate plan priority to deliver new homes.
Before the refurbishment
“It also means a former eyesore property has been renovated, having a positive impact on the community.
“We have an ambitious target to build 170 new council homes by 2022 as well as ensuring more affordable houses are built in the county. We have also set a target to bring 500 empty properties back into use by working closely with private landlords.”
What the property looks like now
The apartments include a kitchen and living room, one double bedroom, a large bathroom and gas central heating.
Anthony Dever Construction undertook the conversion.
