TALENTED footballers are going to get the chance to show off their skills across the Atlantic.

Rhyl Girls U-14s will be heading to America in 2020 to enhance their footballing skills.

The youngsters will be travelling out to New Jersey to spend three days of training and playing friendlies against American opposition.

Following on from this, they will then travel to New York for three days of team bonding exercises.

Team manager Jordie Baker said: "The girls have been playing together since the start of last season and have come on leaps and bounds, and this will top off all their hard work.

"On the flip side of this, we now have a year to raise funds to be able to make this once-in-a-lifetime trip."

A number of fundraising events have been scheduled, including a car wash at Rhyl's Educate Group Stadium on October 6, as well as an auction and raffle night at the Cons Club, Prestatyn on November 30.

The girls will also be bag packing at supermarkets and other sponsored events are planned.
