A PERSON seen ‘purposely’ walking to the water's edge was quickly located through the use of a parachute illuminating flare.
The incident was in Rhyl on Tuesday, September 3 at 8.50pm.
A report had been received by Rhyl Coastguard from a concerned individual via North Wales Police.
A search for the person was carried out; Coastguard Rescue Officers proceeded to the waters edge on foot where they located the person fishing.
A spokesperson for the team said: “Through enquiries with police it was confirmed that the Coastguard team were in the correct area, and the team were stood down.
“The call was made with good intent.”
Rhyl Lifeboat were on hand and were ready to launch.
