AN INTERNATIONAL award winning groomer will be paying a visit to the city of St Asaph this weekend.

Mathew Spry, who is also chairman for The British Dog Grooming Association, will visit on Sunday, September 8 between 10am and 4pm.

He will be sharing his skills and advice during a Poodles and Poos seminar, hosted by Samco Pet Spa at Woodlands House, The Roe.

Cheryl Boulton, owner of Samco Pet Spa who has organised the event, said: "We are really excited that someone like Mathew is coming to St Asaph. Someone that can teach with so much experience.

"He will be teaching all the local groomers doing demonstrations and cutting.

"Having him here is like having a big singer you want to see coming to your house.

"It is a big thing in the grooming world.

"At the moment, we have 22 groomers coming and we still have space - people can sign up online."

Cheryl is OCN Level three qualified and on groomers spotlight.

During the event, the day will cover preparation from start to finish, bathing and drying, what products, the best way to use them, styling and finishing and easy ways to achieve 'cute' head shapes and easy shaping teddy feet.
