RUTHIN Farmers' Auction reports sales of 3,420 prime lambs to 213.3ppk / £96; 820 cull ewes and rams to £99, and seven prime heifers to 242ppk / £1,248.98.

Mold primestock sale - September 2

A LARGE entry of beef cattle met with a trade that remained subdued, as was the case everywhere.

There was another large entry of cull cows with a flying trade.

Lambs met a good demand, with trade seemingly in line with other centres.

Mold stock sale - August 30

THERE was another pleasing show of cattle forward.

Trade was in line with previous weeks, although out of spec cattle are becoming harder to place.

Dairy cattle were in demand again and more could have been sold, with a special entry drawing good interest.

Calves were a nice trade again, with the best commanding a premium, and there were more B & Ws around.
