ON THIS day ten years ago The Argus went to the seafront to meet the pair who decided to ride across Sussex on Penny Farthings to raise money for a good cause.
We also headed to the beach to catch hairdresser employees taking a dip for charity
Peter Sinclair and Alex Orchin cycled from Wivelsfield to Brighton Pier on Pennyfarthing bicycles
They were doing it to raise money to buy an industrial air conditioning unit for a maternity hospital in Cuba
The pair certainly dressed for the occasion
Then staff from Electric Hairdressing had an annual charity swim to raise money for the Rockinghorse charity
This event, organised by Mark Woolley owner and creative director of Electric Hairdressing in Ship Street, Brighton, was the ninth annual swim which has the theme “inflatables”.
The person who stayed in the sea for the longest was declared the winner
William Ackerley dashed for the sea with his inflatable car
Kirsty Martin and Natalie Greenwood ran into the sea with their inflatables
