A GARDEN party is to take place in a Flintshire this weekend.

The event will take place in Treuddyn, near Mold, this coming Saturday between 2pm and 5pm at Ty Vyrnwy (the old vicarage grounds).

It will in include refreshments, a bake-off competition, stalls, a fancy dress and miniature garden competition.

The miniature garden competition will see people design a 'garden' on a tray no bigger than 22cm by 35cm and must not exceed 15cm in height above the tray.

Each garden must be made from living or dead vegetation found in the natural environment, but small accessories as part of the garden's theme are acceptable.

To enter, people are asked to bring their miniature garden to the party, with judging taking place at 3pm and winners announced at 4pm.

The fancy dress competition is as straightforward as it sounds - the most eye-catching, fun and creative costume worn on the day will win the prize.

All costumes must be homemade and judging will take place at 2.30pm.

The bake-off competition will see participants bake an all-in-one victoria sandwich. Entrants are told to bring the finished masterpiece to the party by 12pm - with winners announced at 4pm. Entry to the bake-off costs £1, and for further entry details on how to enter the competition, please call 01352 771876 or email Susan.hellen760@btinternet.com.
