A FEMALE has been left in a critical condition and three other people injured in a "terrifying event" at a Caernarfon campsite.

The campers were hurt in their tents after a vehicle was driven through the Rhyd y Galen camp site.

North Wales Police are investigating the incident which happened just before 1.55am, on Monday morning.

The woman remains in hospital at this time. Two men have been arrested in relation to the incident and are now in custody.

DCI Sion Williams said: “This was a terrifying event for people who should have felt safe in their tents. North Wales Police are supporting those involved and our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has been seriously injured.”
