DOZENS of children's books in sealed plastic bags have been mysteriously appearing around Flintshire..

Tiffany Roberts, of Connah's Quay, is urging more people to get involved in a new activity that she has organised.

Parents and children can go on adventures to find books that have been hidden across the county.

After finding and reading the books, the children pose for a photograph with their find and then re-hide it.

The books should be placed in a clear, waterproof bag and can be placed anywhere.

Tiffany told the Leader that the idea is to write a note with instructions and is a fun way to get more people into reading.

She was inspired by the idea after reading about a similar activity in Cabridgshire, which has already seen hundreds of people get involved.

She said: "I started it after reading a story on Facebook and I thought it was a good idea.

"My son who's nine has found the love of reading over the past year and seems to read books quite quickly. So, I found that this a cheaper version for him to get new books.

"I thought it was a good idea because children these days don't seem to be out as much and would choose to play on Ipads or Playstations over reading a book.

"My son said at least this way the children will enjoy searching for books and hiding the books once they have finished reading it."

A Facebook opage 'Hidden Books in Flintshire' has been set up where people can post pictures and information about their finds.
