A woman who returned home after a night out and tried to get into her bedroom had found the door locked and heard a man saying “stay calm,” a court was told.
“Nothing had been taken from the property but her bed had been used as had her shower,” said prosecutor Sarah Marsh at Caernarfon magistrates’ court.
The shocked woman, who alerted police, had since moved from Bangor as a result of what happened.
Ashley Nicholson, 60, of no fixed address, admitted criminal damage to a window and racially aggravated harassment of a German psychiatrist after comments he made to her when taken to the Hergest unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
He also pleaded guilty to damaging his mother’s windows at Bull Bay, Anglesey.
Deborah Davies, defending, said university-educated Nicholson had acute mental health problems. But he was now on the right medication in custody and a care plan was in place.
The magistrates accepted his mental health contributed to the offences but said the criminal damage would have a lasting effect on Emma Tomlinson who’d moved away.
An eleven weeks prison term was imposed with £750 compensation awarded to the victims.
A restraining order bans him from entering Bull Bay for two years.
