A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The man, 18, is from Merseyside. He was arrested last night in Denbigh.

This follows a knife attack in Rhyl overnight on Tuesday (August 13) where a 43-year-old man was left with life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan.

A spokesperson from North Wales Police said: "An 18 year old man from Merseyside was arrested last night in Denbigh on suspicion of attempted murder, as part of the ongoing investigation into a knife attack in Rhyl on Tuesday, August 13, which left a 43 year old local man with serious injuries.

"Two men from the Denbigh area were also arrested for assisting an offender. All three men remain in custody.

"The arrests were made following searches at addresses in Myddleton Avenue, Denbigh last night.

"Forensic teams will continue their examination of these locations today (Wednesday)."

Detective Superintendent Steve Williams said: “We have made significant progress over the last 24 hours and I am really grateful for the information and support of the public that has taken us this far."

Yesterday, Church Street was closed off and A blue tarpaulin sheet was put up while investigations were carried out.
