FIREFIGHTERS were called out to rescue a youth from a sandbank near Gronant.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call just before 12.50am on Thursday reporting a youth had become stranded on a sandbank near Presthaven Sands.
A fire crew from Prestatyn attended the scene, as did the fire service's water incident unit from Deeside.
The fire service rescued the youth, who was then left in the care of the Welsh Ambulance Service.
HM Coastguard was also alerted to the incident, which was declared over just after 1.51am.
