A CAT missing from home for more than a year has been reunited with his elated owner.

Oscar went missing from Alexandra Drive, Prestatyn, on July 23 2018. His owner Anne Stapleton, who has made several appeals for his return in the Journal, has been looking for him ever since.

On Friday, August 2, Anne received a call from a woman to say that she had spotted Oscar eating food that she had put out for hedgehogs.

This was near the Jolly Sailor - about half a mile away from where Anne lives.

"I had received a call from this lady before. She had seen the appeal in the Journal," Anne said.

"She said 'I am sure it is Oscar coming for visits'. It was about 9.30pm and she had found him eating food she had put out for hedgehogs. I was gobsmacked.

"I saw him and he started meowing. I got him out of the shrubs and he was purring away."

Oscar was microchipped. Anne took him to a friend to get scanned before taking him to the vets.

Anne added: "The vet said he was overweight.

"I just can't believe it. He is well and truly grounded. He just wants to eat and eat and he wants lots of cuddles.

"It has been very hard but it goes to show to never give up.

"It is unbelievable he is here. When I saw him in the garden, I just couldn't believe it was him."
