A 71-year-old church warden who admitted sexually abusing a vulnerable woman has been jailed for seven years by a crown court judge on Monday.
Married Michael Knight, of Salem Terrace, Rhydyfoel, near Abergele, had changed his plea to guilty of sexual activity.
Judge Huw Rees at Caernarfon said only a jail term was appropriate.
The court heard at one stage, after taking an overdose, Knight had told paramedics who tended to him that he’d done something “terrible.”
His counsel said it was a massive fall from grace.
