North Wales is expected to be hit by thunderstorms tonight and into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

In anticipation for the severe weather, the Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning which extends over much of England, Scotland and Wales for July 23 and 24.

The warning has been set to begin at 6pm on Tuesday and will last until 9am on Wednesday morning, with most of the UK seeming set to be hit by thunder, lightning and torrential rain in that time.

Although some areas will miss the thunderstorms altogether, there is potential for frequent lightning, hail and gusty winds, as well as sudden downpours in the places that are hit.

The Met Office have warned that these scattered thunderstorms could cause poor driving conditions, power cuts, and damage to property (from lightning, hail or strong winds).
