Prestatyn produced their most impressive display of the season as they shot out Division promotion-chasing Rainford for just 72 in Saturday's Liverpool Competition game.

Bowlers Sheil Sethi, Danny Pryde and Kieron Tidswell took the honours as Rainford collapsed and Prestatyn suffered few alarms as they reached their target for the loss of four wickets.

This second victory of the season helps Prestatyn away from the drop zone and they have 18 points in hand on the teams below them. This Saturday they will be looking to move even higher when they visit bottom club Wavertree.

Rainford found things difficult from the opening over as Pryde (four for 34) and Sethi (four for 17) took wickets at regular intervals. Tidswell finished with two for 21.

Opener David Harris made 18 and Sethi scored 11 before Gareth Leonard finished with 32 not out as the home side reached their target with six wickets to spare.

Prestatyn Seconds did not have such as good day and tumbled to just 56 all out at Burscough where the home side when on to win by ten wickets.

It could have been even worse for Prestatyn as they were 26 for nine before last-wicket pair Ieuan Glynn Jones (15) and Benjamin Hughes (11 not out) both reached double figures.
