A MOTHER has been ordered to pay £100 compensation to a woman she punched at Flintshire Retail Park.

Julie Jones pushed and punched Angela Inskip in the B&M Bargains store at the Flint retail complex.

North East Wales Magistrates’ Court heard there was “history” between the pair.

Jones claimed her victim had been abusive and had followed her mother around.

CCTV footage showed Mrs Inskip forcing the defendant out of the store after she was attacked.

Prosecutor Justin Espie said Jones, who was with her daughter at the time, started shouting and pointing her finger at Mrs Inskip before they went “chest to chest”.

“She (Jones) physically assaulted her, pushing her into some store produce and then punched her several times,” said Mr Espie.

Mrs Inskip suffered a cut nose and a black eye.

Jones, 46, of Hafod Y Bryn, Brynford admitted assault by beating on April 9 this year.

Victoria Evans, defending, said a family dispute had been the trigger and that Jones had been followed by her victim who was abusive to her in the past.

“There have been all sorts of different incidents. On this occasion things came to a head because she had been abusive to the defendant’s mother,” said the solicitor.

“When she saw her in the store she remonstrated with her and lost her temper. The complainant squared up to her and she feared there would be contact.

“There has been an ongoing dispute. She (Jones) also attended hospital with an injury to her knee. No-one comes out of this situation well.”

As well as the compensation magistrates fined Jones £40 and billed her £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £30.
