A WOMAN has died after being hit by a train.
The incident happened last night near Abergele, shortly after 6pm.
British Transport Police said: "Shortly after 6pm yesterday evening (July 9) officers from British Transport Police were called to the railway close to Towyn after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended but sadly a woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to inform the woman's family.
"This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch have been notified.
