Danceathon at Abergele Tesco

AN AMBITIOUS fundraiser is being held at Tesco Abergele.

For their centenary year, the supermarket is hosting a danceathon. Tesco has launched the Dance Beats fundraiser to support the work of its three national health charity partners - Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

This will span over two days - Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20.

Jan Williams, community champion at Abergele Tesco, said: "This is in line with a series of national events.

"Colleagues and customers are welcome to take part in a series of epic dance challenges.

"Please come along, have some fun, help raise the roof and raise money for the charities."

Katie Sheridan, owner of Howl at the Moon entertainment, will be singing on the Friday.

There will also be appearances by dance schools, including All Stars Dance in Rhyl and Abergele. A conga is planned as well as a visit from Llanddulas morris dancing.

A dance floor will be set up in the foyer area.

Dance Beats will conclude with an ambitious record attempt at Wembley stadium. Thousands of Tesco colleagues and members of the public will come together to complete a 30-hour dance marathon relay.
