STAR of TV's MasterChef Gregg Wallace will be on hand to open a new retirement complex clubhouse near Chester.

Gifford Lea, a 'later living community' in Tattenhall, will be officially unveiling its latest addition on Saturday, July 6, with a free family fete ‘Grand Opening Gala’ for the local community.

Gregg will be cutting the ribbon to the new village centre, ‘The Grange’, which features a spa pool, sauna, steam room, treatment suite and relaxation spaces as well as a brasserie, garden room, library and beauty salon, which are open to all.

The Grand Opening Gala will run from 12pm-3pm with live music, yoga demonstrations, hand massages and manicures, wine tasting, a barbecue and craft demonstrations.

There will also be lots of activities for children to enjoy, including face painting and a showing of ‘The Greatest Showman’ with vintage sweets and popcorn.

Jessica Bennett, Village Manager of Gifford Lea, said: “We are more than excited to welcome Gregg Wallace to Gifford Lea to mark the opening of our impressive clubhouse and celebrate at our Grand Opening Gala, which promises a day of music, laughter, glorious food and fun.

"This second phase of Gifford Lea is sure to be a popular facility among our residents, giving them further opportunities to make the most of their retirement.”

Jamie Bunce, CEO of Inspired Villages, added: “Gifford Lea reflects the needs of today’s retirees, who want to continue living independently, and yet take reassurance from knowing support is available should they need it.

“Just like every Inspired Village, the central facilities at Gifford Lea are a focal point for like-minded people to share their passions and interests.

“We’re proud to offer facilities and surroundings that encourage our residents to rediscover lost hobbies – and explore new ones.”

The first phase of Gifford Lea saw the launch of 48 apartments and Eric’s Lounge, a social hub for residents to meet up for a coffee, enjoy a light lunch, play games or take part in other activities.

The second and final phase will see the opening of the eagerly-awaited clubhouse as well as a further 56 apartments.
