A RHYL dad who has lost an incredible 10 stone took part in a charity trek up Snowdon with 40 fellow Slimming World members.

Those involved in the challenge had a combined weight loss of more than 250 stone.

The trek had been organised through Instagram; Ben Green was the only one from Denbighshire who took part.

Ben has lost a massive 10 stone and four-pounds since March 2018. At his group, he was awarded Greatest Loser and Man of the Year 2019.

The father to Thomas, 11 and Ella, aged nine, joined members from all over the UK for the challenge - who were national greatest losers, those that had featured on the cover of Slimming World magazine, consultants and more - to raise more than £13,000 for Rainbow Trust children's charity.

The factory operator, who is married to Elizabeth, now weighs 14 stone and seven-pounds.

He said: "Last year I was almost 25 stone. It was a real privilege to be invited by the organisers [Steve Lodge and Scott Davie] to take part and to meet up with people who help to inspire me to lose my weight. It was incredible.

"The walk was a real challenge in the heat. It was a perfect day for it though as the views were stunning from the summit.

"We walked up the Miners' Track, which at points is challenging, and came down the Llanberis Path. I used muscles that I hadn't used for years and I relied on ankle support due to pain."

Last year, Ben's mobility was a concern.

"It would take me 20 minutes just to get out of bed at almost 25 stone. My ankles seized up overnight," Ben said.

"I feel like I can conquer anything now with my weight loss.

"During the walk everyone was talking to each other about their weigh loss journeys.

"There was a lot of emotion and support climbing. Lots of emotions, hugs and tears of joy too."
