Detectives are appealing for information after an off-road bike was stolen in Ellesmere Port.

On Sunday 23 June a 16-year-old boy from Liverpool was riding his off-road bike on a motor cross track off Shellway Road, near to the entrance of Enterprise Van Hire.

Sometime between 3.10pm on 5.20pm the teenager allowed another man to use his bike while he stood watching at the side of the track.

As the boy watched he became aware of a group of five to six unknown men who were running towards him and towards his bike.

The men then threatened the man riding the bike, before stealing the bike and fleeing the scene.

All of the men were wearing dark clothing and one of them is believed to have been armed with a knife.

Detective Constable Chris O’Connor, of Ellesmere Port CID, said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and we are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.

“We are aware there were a number of people at the track at the time of the incident and I’d urge them to get in touch if they have any information which may assist the investigation.

“The same goes for any motorists with a dashcam who were driving in the area around the time of the incident and believes that they may have footage of the offenders.

“I urge anyone with any footage or information that may be relevant, no matter how small, to get in touch with the team here at Ellesmere Port.”
