THE chance to see two-time Olivier Award winners in witty a devastating play satirising the governing class awaits this autumn.

Lindsay Duncan and Alex Jennings star in brand new play Hansard from Simon Wood, which will broadcast live to the Prestatyn Scala from the National Theatre in London in November.

Lending real star power to the play, Duncan has also won two Tony awards as well as starring in Oscar winning film Birdman, while Jennings is perhaps best known for his role as Prince Charles in The Queen as well as being the only performer to win Olivier awards in the drama, musical and comedy categories.

It’s a summer’s morning in 1988 and Tory politician Robin Hesketh has returned home to the idyllic Cotswold house he shares with his wife of 30 years, Diana. But all is not as blissful as it seems.

Diana has a stinking hangover, a fox is destroying the garden, and secrets are being dug up all over the place.

As the day draws on, what starts as gentle ribbing and the familiar rhythms of marital scrapping quickly turns to blood-sport.

Don’t miss this incredible portrait of British politics at the Scala on Thursday, November 7 at 7pm.

Tickets are £16, to book visit prestatyn.merlincinemas.co.uk or call the box office on 01745 850197.
