A DRONE has captured the awe inspiring scene of silhouettes marked in the sand in remembrance of the fallen.
Matt Hellen, of Buckley, took the footage of the silhouettes on Rhyl beach, between the Lifeboat station and Events Arena, during a tribute which saw thousands turn out to pay their respects.
The silhouettes were part of today's commemoration to mark 75 year since the D Day offensive which pre-saged the end of conflict in Europe during the Second World War.
The massive, temporary monument was organised by Rhyl Royal British legion and veterans' support charity Woody's Lodge, and was inspired by a 2013 memorial, The Fallen 9,000, which was created near Arromanches, France on one of the beaches of of the 1944 Normandy landings.
