FORMER Love Island champion Amber Davies has branded the return of the series as "unreal".

Amber, of Denbigh and a former Ysgol Glan Clwyd pupil, won the ITV2 show in 2017 with Kem Cetinay.

The show returned to tv screens on Monday, June 3. More than 3.3million viewers tuned in.

Taking to Twitter, Amber posted: "Wow I’m just watching on catch up now. Lucie is so beautiful. You can already tell the series is gonna be unreal."

Amber, who is starring in 9 to 5 the musical, spoke ahead of the programme on Lorraine.

"This year I think there is a lot of bigger personalities going in, which I'm excited about," she said.

"They have all got a lot of sass this year which would really scare me."

Presenter Lorraine Kelly brought up the topic of after care after the death of former contestant Mike Thalassitis.

Amber said: "My personal experience of aftercare was unbelievable and amazing.

"It looks like we are living the dream, this glamorous life, and it is really not at times. Jobs are really slim for reality stars at the minute and I think the more popular Love Island gets, the less jobs people are going to get when they come out.

"Your life changes completely."

Amber admitted during the interview that she would love to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing but it was "definitely not on the table."

"Maybe in a couple of years time," she said.

Amber gave a run down of things Islanders need during their stay in the villa. She suggested ear plugs, a bikini, water bottle, inflatable drink holder and a photo frame.
