A COASTGUARD rescue team is gearing up to host its annual duck racing event to raise money for charity.

Flint Coastguard Rescue Team will be hosting the event at The Yacht, Oakenholt in Flint to raise money for the Coastguard Association on May 27.

The charity aims to provide help and financial support to both service and ex coastguards in need.

A spokesman for the event said: "Bank holiday is fast approaching and if you are wanting something to do with the children and not wanting the nightmare of the bank holiday travel then we have just the thing for you.

"With lots of activities for the children from bouncy castles, face painting and more. There will be plenty of refreshments from a BBQ and ice cream van and not forgetting a raffle with great prizes to be won.

"As always it's a well supported day and we hope to see you all there."

Doors open at 12pm and the first race will be held at 2pm.
