DEESIDE'S Assembly Member has welcomed a funding boost for projects to support families in his constituency.
Jack Sargeant AM said he is 'delighted' with the Welsh Labour Government announcement that £555,000 will be made available to give children a 'fairer chance in life'.
Aston Family Centre Flying Start project will receive £365,000 and Queensferry Community Learning Hub Flying Start project will receive £190,000.
Flying Start is the Welsh Government’s flagship early years programme which plays a crucial role as part of our anti-poverty agenda and aims to support families living in some of the most disadvantaged communities across Wales.
It offers 12 and a half hours of high quality childcare a week for 2-3 year olds; support for the development of children’s speech, language and communication; parenting support; and an enhanced health visitor service.
Jack Sargeant AM said: "Flying Start is about giving children a better start, and a fairer chance in life than they would have had otherwise. It is creating opportunities for children and their families. Which, in these challenging times, it’s more important than ever. This investment is great news for families in Alyn and Deeside. "
