This event is a real two for one.

In partnership with Discogs, Crate Diggers is a record fair with a side show of a live performance.

Heading up the gig side of the event are Seventies pop sensations Sister Sledge.

They will be headlining the show while record lovers browse through the wide selection of LPs and vinyls.

The record fair itself is free to get in to, so you can have a look at what’s on offer.

The gig portion is ticketed.

Freak

Rialto Theatre, Brighton, Sunday, May 12 – Wednesday, May 15

This show is being shown as part of Brighton Fringe and is definitely one to check out.

Freak is the story of two women coming to terms with their sex lives.

One is 30, the other is 15 and the show details how the pair cope with various times in their lives.

Their stories are deeply personal and moving and run the audience through how these women at very different stages get to grips with what is happening around them.

As is the case with most Fringe shows, this is a unique and entertaining performance.

Chilly Gonzales

Brighton Dome, Brighton, Monday, May 13

Alongside Brighton Fringe, the Brighton Festival offers up an eclectic mix of shows and performances.

One of the most talked about shows of this year’s festival is Chilly Gonzales.

The Grammy award-winning Canadian pianist puts his take on some of the world’s best-selling pop songs using his classic piano skills.

He’s performed with some of the biggest artists in the world and currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running solo concert, having performed for a 27 hours.

Electric Six

The Constitutional Club, Lewes, Wednesday, May 15

The band that want to take all of their adoring fans to the Gay Bar are coming back to Sussex.

Electric Six are one of the world’s most fun loving and unique rock bands and have built a loyal and dedicated fan base on the back of it.

Songs such as the aforementioned Gay Bay and Danger, High Voltage are club anthems guaranteed to get people partying and singing along.

This group of rockers from Detroit, Michigan, are easily one of the best live bands you will see.

Seann Walsh

Clair Hall, Haywards Heath, Friday, May 17

One of the kings of the British comedy scene, Seann Walsh has attracted a new group of fans after his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018.

A Brightonian himself, Seann is never one to shy away from the spotlight and always takes everything thrown at him in stride.

Having received a number of accolades for his charismatic and animated comedy style, Seann knows exactly how to have a crowd laughing in their seats.

But don’t expect any dancing.
