Plans for nearly 50 homes in Ruthin open to prospective buyers

House designs, nearby schools and commuting links near Glasdir Estate are among the amenities on display at the new on-site sales information centre opened by building contractor Taylor Wimpey.

Work to build the 49 homes resumed in February after being on hold since the end of 2012, when 122 existing properties on the estate were flooded.

The contractor has not yet set a completion date for the work, but some of the homes will be available by the end of this year.

Layouts for the new homes on the estate, which is located off the Ruthin North Link Road, range from two-storey detached to three-storey semi-detached three and four-bedroom homes with a modern interior design.

The properties will be available through the Welsh Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which gives eligible buyers the option of securing a new home with just a five per cent deposit, making it easier for first time buyers or growing families to get on or move up the property ladder.

The estate is a 15-minute walk from the town centre and close to the A494, which links to Chester and Colwyn Bay.

Mr Craig added: “We would urge house hunters in the area to get in touch with our friendly sales team or pop into the sales information centre for more information on Glasdir. We’re expecting it to be very popular!”
